Meet Environmental ESG with IT disposition-HOBI

ESG refers to how companies pledge to handle certain controversial issues in regards to the environment, social and governance. Environment focuses on how companies respect and safeguard the environment. Social addresses the company’s relationship with its employees,  its customers and the community it interconnects with. Governance, on the other hand, concentrates on a company’s leadership, its compliance with the law and the effectiveness of its decisions for both the company as a whole as well as the environment.

Enhancing ESG goals benefits a company and an organization tremendously. Benefits such as happier employees, as well as cleaner air and improved working environments and conditions. Also, many organizations require companies to have ESG policies in place before they begin or agree to any type of partnership. PWC announced their five-year plan for a substantial push for ESG. They pledged to “invest $12 billion over five years to create 100,000 new jobs aimed at helping its clients grapple with climate and diversity reporting as part of its new global strategy.” This demonstrates the urgency and importance of ESG goals and its continuity within the business world.

Proper IT asset disposition aligns with ESG goals and helps companies achieve the environmental criteria for ESG reporting. Some ways to strengthen ESG within an enterprise or an organization include data security, remarketing, and recycling.

Data security: the proper sanitization and handling of data gives an organization the peace of mind that its employees’ and clients’ confidential information is protected and handled with care. Proper data sanitization is extremely important for a company’s reputation.

Remarketing: The best form of recycling is reusing. Eliminating Consumption and waste helps bring the world closer to a circular economy.

Recycling: The world produces large amounts of electronic waste each year, and this waste is harmful and toxic for our health. Properly recycling used electronics and transferring them into other useful products achieves ESG goals.
