ESG TAC Meeting Open to Public at Electronics Sustainability Summit
Formerly the E-Reuse Conference, the SERI Electronics Sustainability Summit will take place October 22-24 in Austin, TX, where industry leaders will gather at the premiere electronics recycling and sustainability event to gain valuable knowledge, network with experts, and explore the latest trends shaping the future of electronics reuse. Among the many industry experts scheduled to speak, HOBI’s president, Craig Boswell, will chair a session on the evolving reuse market for mobile devices.
The summit’s schedule includes a SERI ESG Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting, consisting of a multi-stakeholder group developing the new SERI ESG reporting Standard for Electronics.
ESG reporting has emerged as part of a change in industry standards, becoming one of the most notable new requirements, and continues to be a hot topic. The ESG TAC meeting is an excellent opportunity for industry leaders to gain knowledge on the subject and learn what others in the ITAD industry are doing to achieve ESG goals. The meeting will be open to the public Oct. 22 at 8 a.m. RSVPs from members of the public are required, and information will be provided soon.
Since ESG has risen as an industry requirement, many companies strive to implement ESG goals into their business models but still need to figure out where to start or how ESG works. ESG TAC meetings cover many details and provide significant insight for organizations looking to implement ESG strategies, and can help others learn how to utilize strengths to navigate this new requirement. Everyone wants to reduce their carbon footprint, but some lack the tools to measure impact. The eSummit schedule includes a session exploring the need for ESG reporting to promote the positive effects of the electronics value chain and enable more sustainable decisions by users and businesses throughout the lifecycle.
The eSummit’s scheduled events also include the R2 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting, which will consist of representatives from key stakeholder groups responsible for developing revisions to the R2 Standard and will be a continuation of the conversations of this group in person.
Both TAC meetings will be open to the public for anyone interested in learning more by an opportunity for public comment.
Register for SERI’s Electronics Sustainability Summit, and attend the ESG TAC meeting to learn more about ESG reporting and its global impact on the ITAD industry.
