Below is a recap of this week’s blog posts including how Alaska is recycling batteries via a new e-waste program, how to improve environmental standards with proper IT asset disposition, a review of the recent Apple event, and how to manage electronic waste.

Alaska Recycles Batteries with New E-Waste Program

Backhaul Alaska, a new e-waste initiative, is helping the state recycle batteries. An idea from U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the initiative now receives federal grant money from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency, and recently reported that they collected and recycled over 145,000 pounds of lead-acid batteries from 45 communities last year.

Improve Environmental Standards with Proper IT Asset Disposition

Environmental awareness is becoming more prevalent in the business world as many organizations set ESG goals and implement eco-friendly practices. There are many ways for an enterprise to reduce its carbon footprint, and partnering with an ITAD provider not only helps protect the environment, but also provides many enterprise benefits as well. Proper IT asset disposition will improve environmental standards and help a business achieve ESG goals with safe e-waste management.

Apple Event Review

Apple’s Fall event took place Sep. 12, announcing several new products, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, Apple Watch Series 9, and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Apple Watch Series 9:

The Apple Watch Series 9 includes new features like improved dictation, a brighter screen, Double Tap, and access to health data via Siri with Siri Health Queries.

Managing Electronic Waste

We live in a technology-driven society, and our dependence upon IT assets continues to grow. Tech consumers need to be aware of the behavior of these products and how to properly dispose of them at the end of their useful life to mitigate environmental harm.
