Below is a recap of this week’s blog posts, including reducing carbon impact with strategic IT asset disposition, data center decommissioning solutions with an ITAD provider, closing the circularity loop with mobile reuse and ITAD, and ITAD solutions for device overheating and damage.

Reduce Carbon Impact with Strategic IT Asset Disposition

Reducing negative carbon impact helps companies strengthen environmental credibility, and a key component to achieving this is responsible IT asset disposition. Technology is at the forefront of every successful business. Still, it is also taking a toll on the environment, prompting many companies to implement strategies that help reduce their carbon footprint. ITAD providers offer end-of-life services, helping organizations dispose of their retired IT assets in an environmentally sound manner.

Data Center Decommissioning Solutions with an ITAD Provider

As the primary method of enterprise data storage, data centers are an essential component of any organization, but can be a hassle to retire. Due to their size, data centers are often not viewed as IT assets, at least not in the same capacity as other assets; however, they are classified as e-waste and can be detrimental to the environment when not disposed of properly. IT asset disposition (ITAD) providers collect data centers as well as other IT equipment for environmentally sound e-waste disposal, and ensure data is protected throughout the process.

Closing the Circularity Loop with Mobile Reuse & ITAD

Mobility is growing, and with it, the need for circularity. In a linear economy, goods and materials are purchased, used, and then discarded, resulting in a significant amount of global waste, including electronic waste. E-waste is detrimental to the environment, and a circular economy focuses on eliminating waste via reuse and recycling. ITAD providers close the loop on a circular economy by collecting retired IT equipment and processing it for reuse and recycling. Circularity helps reduce global e-waste generation by keeping used assets out of the waste stream, and ITAD providers close the loop with end-of-use services that promote mobile reuse.

ITAD Solutions for Device Overheating & Damage

Enterprise IT assets are integral to any business, but also incredibly fragile, especially in high temperatures. Improper storage can lead to damaged assets and increase repair costs. During the hotter months, electronics are at a greater risk of overheating and can pose safety issues, such as catastrophic facility fires, if not responsibly managed. ITAD providers offer end-of-use solutions for retired IT assets to help prevent them from improper storage and becoming safety hazards.
