Below is a recap of this week’s blog posts, including increasing the value of used IT assets with ITAD, mobile devices taking the lead in the ITAD shift, and protecting the environment this Easter by reusing plastic eggs.

Increase the Value of Used IT Assets with ITAD

Rapid technological advancements drive annual IT upgrades for many companies to keep their equipment up to date and functioning properly. IT assets are integral to any business, and upkeep can become expensive, including disposition. Many assets end up in storage closets or are thrown out with municipal waste due to a lack of knowledge or time to dispose of them responsibly. IT asset disposition (ITAD) providers offer a range of end-of-use services for retired IT assets, including repair and remarketing opportunities to increase the value of used assets.

The ITAD Shift: Mobile Devices Take the Lead

Technology plays a pivotal role in daily life but has advanced rapidly, leading to a digital age with different electronic needs. IT assets such as desktops, printers, scanners, and landlines were traditionally found in offices until the shift to mobility when mobile assets like laptops and cell phones took off. The rise of mobile electronics necessitated changing how IT assets were processed, creating a category for non-traditional assets.

Protect the Environment This Easter by Reusing Plastic Eggs

Easter is approaching, and many will have plastic Easter eggs leftover from holiday festivities. Because most recycling facilities do not accept Easter eggs, consumers may wonder what to do with the leftover eggs. Recycling may not be an option. However, several creative ways exist to upcycle plastic Easter eggs rather than just throwing them away. Repurposing old or leftover Easter eggs helps prevent them from ending up in waste streams, where they cannot be broken down, helping to protect the environment by eliminating potential waste.
