HOBI’s next employee spotlight shines on Courtland Taylor, a man with a varied collection of hobbies, who has spent much of his time helping others both on the field and in the classroom.
The ITAD process includes many different roles, and like any company, the most important are financial. As HOBI’s Accounting Coordinator, Courtland’s role at HOBI essentially involves financial correspondence with clients, managing accounts receivable, communicating with clients regarding account balances and payments, credit memos, and other invoice adjustments for clients. Working in accounting requires a significant amount of responsibility and trust when depositing cash or checks, making Courtland a valued member of the HOBI team.
Born and raised in the bustling city of Dallas, Texas, Courtland remains loyal to his southern roots and still resides in the heart of the city, where he just celebrated his second anniversary at HOBI’s Dallas location.
Working in the accounting department is an enormous responsibility and requires focus and organization, which Courtland had the opportunity to cultivate during his college years. He spent summers between Texas Southern University semesters teaching golf lessons for children and adults at Cedar Crest Golf Course before going on to tutor third and fourth-grade math for Confidence Group. After college, he began his accounting career as the Accounts Payable Specialist at Timco Logistics before finally joining the HOBI team.
After spending most of the day at a desk, Courtland is often quick to spend his free time doing something that keeps him active, whether it’s golfing or sweating on the pickleball court. A true Texan at heart, he also enjoys the thrill of recreational shooting. Though he spends most of the day in the mental trenches of accounting, he still enjoys keeping his mind active even while physically resting, and can often be found with a book in hand or immersed in online gaming. He can even occasionally be spotted on the stage for karaoke night.
