R2

An R2-certified company implements best practices in environmental sustainability and overall health, safety and security aspects of electronics recycling.

The R2 Standard focuses on the performance of electronics recyclers in the areas of:

  • Environmental and public health

  • Worker health and safety

  • Security (data and facility)

  • The entire recycling process and chain of custody of materials through final disposition


Companies choose an R2 recycler for security and compliance. An R2 certification addresses all areas of concern from data breach due to improperly discarded IT equipment to reuse and remarketing.

RIOS

A Recycling Industry Operating Standards (RIOS) certification is the standard for quality, environmental, and health & safety management systems (QEH&S). Certified RIOS companies are able to provide independent verification that they meet requirements set forth by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc.

ISO 14001

Companies that are ISO 14001-certified are in compliance with environmental management standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). ISO 14001 identifies companies looking to control their environmental impact and are constantly improving their environmental performance.

ISRI

ISRI members are manufacturers and processors, brokers and industrial consumers of scrap commodities, including ferrous and nonferrous metals, paper, electronics, rubber, plastics, glass, and textiles. ISRI’s associate members include equipment and service providers to the scrap recycling industry.

IAITAM

The International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers, Inc. (“IAITAM”) the professional association for individuals and organizations involved in any aspect of IT Asset Management (“ITAM”), Software Asset Management (“SAM”), Hardware Asset Management, and the lifecycle processes supporting IT Asset Management in organizations of every size and industry across the globe.

ILRA

HOBI’s corporate office resides in Illinois, making our affiliation with the Illinois Recycling Association (ILRA) ideal. ILRA is the only collective voice for recycling on critical waste management issues in the state of IL. The mission of ILRA is to encourage the responsible use of resources by promising waste reduction, reuse and recycling throughout the state.

STAR

The State of Texas Association of Recycling (STAR) is an organization that strives to promote recycling within the state of Texas. The mission of STAR is to increase recycling rates to the highest level afforded by balanced economic and sustainability principles, for the benefit of the state and its citizens.
