This week, HOBI welcomed its newest team member, Steven Saunders, a newlywed and fitness junkie with a love for the outdoors and a passion for connecting with people.
An Arizona native, Steven grew up in a small mountain town that fostered his love of cool weather and all things outdoors. He moved from the mountain terrain of Sierra Vista to the rolling plains of Texas, trading nicer weather for spicier food, where he recently joined the HOBI business development team.
Business development requires the perfect mixture of patience, leadership, and social skills, all of which Steven acquired in his role as a sales executive in the B2B logistics space before joining HOBI. As someone who prioritizes fitness and staying active, Steven has also cultivated a keen sense of responsibility, self-discipline, and time management that contribute to his business development duties. As a point of contact for clients, he will focus on driving business growth through building and strengthening client relationships and connecting HOBI’s unique service offerings with clients’ needs.
Though he is now a Texas resident, Steven carried his love for the outdoors with him to the south and enjoys spending hours soaking in nature, whether it’s hiking a trail or casting a line by the lake. With a passion for staying active, he played college baseball and now coaches high school students, which provides him with the rich opportunity to gain a better understanding and connect with younger generations.
Recently married, Steven is currently basking in the newlywed bliss with his wife. Together, they enjoy building close relationships in their community, cooking out during cooler weather, hosting friends, and attempting to best one another on the pickleball court. Steven also pours his passion for connecting with people at church, where he and his wife are actively involved and enjoy fellowshipping with their church family.
When not at HOBI, Steven can be found exploring the Texas landscape, posted in front of a football game, or in the gym training in the first stage of bodybuilding as he preps for a show.
