HOBI-Employee spotlight

Working in Human Resources is a bit like herding cats—chaotic and more than a little gruelling, but no one can keep a team on track like Lacey Baker.

Born and raised on the rural outskirts of Dallas, Texas, Lacey never strayed too far from her hometown, besides the occasional lake trip, and continues to thrive at HOBI’s Dallas facility. After many years of climbing the HR ladder, she joined the HOBI team as HR Director, a role she has held for 13 years.

Lacey is more than just an HR professional; she’s our expert problem solver. Growing up around the organized chaos of ranch life armed her with the determination, perseverance, and patience required for the multiple hats the HR role demands. From training and hiring new employees to implementing policies, enforcing compliance, and balancing employee relations, Lacey is the glue that holds HOBI together.

At home, Lacey dons a white chef’s hat and is most often found in the kitchen, fostering her love for cooking—sometimes with a dog or two at her feet. Outside of HOBI, she utilizes her cohesive skills to complete crafts, with the help of several feline supervisors.

Though she now works in the center of a bustling city, Lacey prefers the peaceful tranquility of being just far enough away. She and her husband often enjoy escaping to Possum Kingdom Lake for a quiet respite from the din of urban life. As a lover of nature, Lacey occasionally trades her chef’s hat for a sun visor as she spends time getting her hands dirty in the garden.

When not at HOBI, Lacey can be glimpsed lakeside enjoying nature with family, enveloped in a new recipe, or signing up for annual barbeque cook-offs!
