HOBI Employee Spotlight

Though he originally hails from the mythologically rich lands of Transylvania, this HOBI team member insists that growing up in the final decade of communist rule was far from the gothic fairytales that are often associated with his homeland.

Tibor joined the HOBI team as the QEHS Manager (Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety) in January 2025. With 27 years of experience in engineering and quality in the automotive and telecommunications industries, Tibor brings a broad skill set, deep expertise, and a profound appreciation for diverse organizational cultures, industry standards, and best practices. His days consist of developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive programs that ensure workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance while shipping quality products to clients.

Though there were no vampires lurking behind castle walls–according to Tibor–the infamous myths did give the forests and old stone villages a certain mysterious charm. Described as a place of contrasts – hardship and joy, silence and song – Transylvania was full of natural beauty and cultural richness, presenting a timelessness that grounded its residents through change.

As empty nesters, Tibor and his wife enjoy a quiet rhythm at home, consisting of rediscovered shared routines, uninterrupted conversations, and ample time for reflection and renewed connection, all while watching the next generation from a peaceful distance.

Tibor is an avid cyclist and enjoys the unique sense of freedom long-distance bicycle riding provides to witnessing the world at a slower, more intimate pace, as well as the many health benefits, as both a physical challenge and a deeply rewarding journey. He actively volunteers with local and national cycling associations that support initiatives promoting safe, accessible, and sustainable biking communities.

When not at HOBI, Tibor can be spotted on bike trails soaking in the quiet connection to nature, or at home enjoying the peaceful, nostalgic routine of life beyond work.
