HOBI weekly blog recap

Below is a recap of this week’s blog posts including bridging the digital device with electronics donations programs, Minnesota’s right to repair bill, and finding data center solutions by partnering with an ITAD provider.

Problem-Solving with vITAD: Bridge the Digital Divide with Electronics Donations Programs

After the world was plunged into a digital age, many required more devices to conduct business or continue school from home, which created a digital obstacle. It’s no secret that technology prices have increased beyond reasonable expectations, and many people still have difficulty finding working electronics at affordable prices. Value-added IT asset disposition, or vITAD, services help bridge the gap between those with access to technology and those without while significantly reducing the cost.

Minnesota Takes Steps Toward Right to Repair

Minnesota recently became the second state in the nation to enact a right to repair digital devices after incorporating language from previous bills into its budget. Senate File 1598 and House File 1337 were introduced in the state this year, but neither passed out of their chamber of origin. Similar language was added to the budget, SF2744, and Democratic Gov. Tim Walz signed the bill on May 24.

Partner with an ITAD Provider for Data Center Solutions

Data centers now store more significant amounts of employee and enterprise data than ever. This means maintaining them is more important than ever. Data security should be the top priority for managing data centers. Because of the volume of information they store, data centers should always be safe and secure.
