Tech companies Dell and OnePlus have enacted plans to increase prices in response to the Brexit decision.
An overall 10 percent blanket increase has been reported for Dell products being sold in the U.K. Aside from Dell, OnePlus has indicated plans to sell their newest handset, the OnePlus 3, for £329, a 6.5 percent increase from the original price of £309.
The increase in prices is a reaction to the overall decreasing value of the pound in relation to the U.S. dollar.
“In line with the rest of the industry, our component costs are priced in U.S. dollars, and unfortunately, the recent strengthening of the U.S. dollar versus sterling and other currencies in the EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] region, following the U.K.’s decision to leave the European Union, will have a direct impact on the price we sell to our U.K. customers and partners,” the spokesperson said.
Other industry experts expect further tech price rises within the weeks to come.
