Below is Part 2 of the Galaxy Unpacked August event.
Galaxy Watch 5 & Watch 5 Pro
The Galaxy Watch 5 comes in two sizes and four colors, and includes a new sapphire crystal face. New features include an advanced workout algorithm that helps you track many different workouts, as well an increased contact area for more accurate readings. The advanced bioactive sensor now includes an all new infrared temperature sensor.
Like the Watch 5, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro includes new faces, and a display that is two times harder than previous versions. The Watch 5 Pro also includes a new route workout experience that provides turn by turn directions, allows users to sync files with friends, and ensures you get safety back to your starting point with trackback. The new titanium frame comes in two colors, black and gray, and features a D-buckle band.
Galaxy Z Fold4
Like the Flip4, the Galaxy Z Fold4 also comes with a smaller hinge designed to provide more balance, as well as a wider display. The Fold4 includes improved under display camera and image processing, improved display patterns, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 10MP telephoto camera, 3X optical zoom and a 50MP wide camera. Combining the best of One UI 4 and Android 12L, the Flip4 allows users to pin their most used apps on the new task bar, and enables the use of the S Pen.
With enhanced cameras, the Galaxy Z Fold4 Nightography has a larger sensor that lets in more light and upgraded space zoom that allows users to see what they’re capturing without losing track of what they are zooming in on. The new Fold4 model also includes Samsung’s most advanced chipset that delivers an improvement of CPU by 17 percent, NPU by 74 percent and GPU by 56 percent.
Sustainability
Like many other tech giants, Samsung is committed to taking environmental action through the Galaxy for the Planet initiative. Earlier this year, the company announced the development of a material that repurposes one of the ocean’s main sources of plastic waste, discarded fish nets. The Galaxy S22 series was the first ever smartphone to incorporate the material, and now 90 percent of the galaxy devices released this year include at least one component made of recycled materials such as the fish net, ocean bound plastics or post consumer material. Samsung is also reducing their carbon footprint by using 100 percent recycled paper in packaging, and reducing packaging for the new devices by 58 percent when compared to the first generation.
The Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Z Fold4 will be available starting August 26, with pre-orders for the Fold4 starting August 10.
