iStock_000037217352_SmallOpenText, a Canadian content management firm, announced their acquisition of large majority of HP Inc’s customer experience content management division earlier today.

The $170 million purchase includes products from the HP Engage line: HP MediaBin, HP Qfiniti, HP Explore, HP Aurasma and HP Optimost. The extension of content management offerings can be seen as a continuation of OpenText’s overall enterprise information management services.

OpenText anticipates the new assets to generate more than $85 million within the first year.
