Mashable reports Apple plans to launch four new iPad Pro devices next month. If these reports are true, the company will release 12.9”, 10.5”, 9.7” and 7.9” versions during March 2017.
The current iPad Pros available for purchase measure in at 12.9” and 9.7”, meaning the the 10.5” and 7.9” versions are new models. If these new devices are released, the smallest version will likely replace the iPad mini.
Overall tablet shipments decreased to 174.8 million during 2016, marking the second consecutive year of declining tablet sales. Users are choosing to upgrade tablets less frequently, leading to longer device lifecycles and low sales.
Apple’s latest iPad release was at an event during March 2016, so with only a year passed, it’s unclear if users will desire to upgrade devices. Although new iPads may not be an overwhelming success, Apple is gearing up for its 10-year anniversary iPhone, which is likely to make a splash.
