With the winter holiday just around the corner, HOBI International Inc. would like to wish all of you a happy holiday season surrounded by family and friends. We also would like to gently remind you to please recycle during all your holiday festivities.
To help you kick off your joyous celebrations on an eco-friendly and green note, please consider taking the following actions to help keep our planet sustainable.
- Set all decorative lights on a timer, to help reduce wasted electricity or consider decorative lights that use LED energy efficient lights.
- Consider using rechargeable batteries and giving them as gifts.
- Check your city’s curbside recycling rules to get a comprehensive list on which types of wrapping paper are acceptable as recyclable material. Typically, wrapping paper that is metallic, shiny, laminated, or contains glitter cannot be recycled and should be disposed of with regular trash materials.
- Travel smart by carpooling to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- With modern society favoring a tech take-over, consider sending electronic cards rather than traditional paper ones to help reduce the amount of paper waste.
- Dispose of tissue paper with regular trash material. However, please note that while most cities accept tissue paper at curbside recycling, tissue paper is often made from recycled paper and therefore the fibers are so short that they cannot be turned into paper again.
