iPhone X Projected to Boost 2018 Phone Sales
- Apple’s iPhone X will be available for preorder today with shipments beginning Nov. 3. Due to the late November release, the smartphone market is expected to see an increase in sales as iPhone X’s replacement cycle flows into 2018 and the highest year-over-year smartphone growth since 2015.
China’s Import Policy Concerns U.S. Officials
- China’s import policy has led to massive market disruptions. With nearly half of all U.S. scrap exports being sent to mainland China, concerns for this import policy stem from the fluctuation of aluminum and copper prices as the markets for some of these metals have dropped from the 2016 multi-year highs they previously reached.
Amazon Introduces Alexa to the Roads
- Amazon is taking digital assistant Alexa, a cloud-computing voice service, to the roads by partnering with Garmin and BMW. Both products, the Garmin Speak and select 2018 model BMWs integrated with Alexa, are slated to be released in mid-2018.
Google Implements Advanced Protection Program for High-End Users
- Google recently implemented the Advanced Protection Program, a sophisticated cyber-protection, for high-end users who have a high risk of targeted online attacks. The new security program will focus on three core defenses: phishing, accidental sharing, and fraudulent account access.
