Japanese researchers claim to have developed ‘self-healing’ glass
- The days of cracked phone screens may be a thing of the past. Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo claim to have created a type of glass that will heal itself from cracks or breaks. Made from a lightweight polymer called “polyether-thioureas,” this new type of glass can heal cracks when pressure is applied.
Apple offers $29 battery replacement for affected iPhone models
- Dec. 30, Apple announced their plan to immediately offer $29 battery replacements worldwide for the iPhone models affected by the recent iOS power management feature. Apple originally set the offer at $50 battery replacements available by the end of January, however, the company opted to release the offer immediately at a lower price to accommodate the needs of their customers.
- The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is quickly approaching and the 50th anniversary show in Las Vegas from Jan. 9-12 will give us the first few glimpses and rumblings of upcoming consumer technology.
