Rapidly growing amounts of e-waste are bringing larger numbers than ever in this year’s market forecast for e-waste management.
New technologies replace old devices monthly, if not weekly. For this reason, it’s becoming more commonplace to purchase new devices multiple times annually. Increasing numbers of used devices are great news for e-waste processors everywhere.
Research and Markets issued a report today estimating the global e-waste management market will reach values of $5.04 billion by 2020. E-waste management encompasses all processes during e-wastes’ lifecycle: collection, recycling and sales to downstream vendors.
The market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 20 percent between 2015 and 2020. This growth comes from an original reported sum of $1.6 million in 2014.
This report indicates e-waste will stay a hot topic and industry in the coming years. As the technology turnover rate continues to increase, so will the amount of discarded e-waste.
