The ISIRI Annual Convention and Exposition takes place in Nashville, Tenn., April 17-20 at the Music City Center. The four-day event brings the recycling industry together for networking and educational opportunities. More than 70 speakers are scheduled to share their knowledge and expertise. Among them is Craig Boswell, president and co-founder of HOBI International Inc, as well as past chairman of ISRI’s Electronics Division.
Boswell will speak on two panels April 19. The first session, “Understanding Your Impact: Knowing the Numbers that Matter,” begins at 2:15 p.m. During this session, Boswell will discuss how measuring quality, safety, and environmental performance goes beyond meeting a standards requirement and instead is a management tool used to improve operations and increase profitability.
The second session, “The Evolving Battery Landscape in Electronics and Metal Recycling,” begins at 4:00 p.m. In this session, Boswell will discuss how battery technology is evolving rapidly. Thus, new technologies such as Lithium-Air promise improved battery performance in the future, allowing for new applications and longer battery life.
Other keynotes will include understanding the value of data points, such as workflow efficiency losses and energy consumption, and how to operate to enhance tracking and performance around these data points. Additionally, industry professionals will discuss the electrification movement and how the movement presents the industry with challenges and opportunities to act as industry leaders and pioneers for the best economic, environmental, and safety measures.
