Apple’s event Wednesday not only showcased new technology capabilities, but also new financing opportunities.
The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be available with two-year contracts. The 6S will be $199 with a contract and the 6S Plus will be $299 with a two-year contract. These contracts will be similar to car contracts, meaning after two years of paying a monthly fee, the user will own the phone. Service fees will be additional costs on top of the phone payment plan.
Apple customers will also have the option to upgrade to the newest version of the iPhone after a year of the older model. The same monthly fees for the new device will apply, making this a more costly option.
These plans are more expensive than similar network provider plans, such as AT&T Next. These plans can be evaluated and purchased through a local Apple store, or Apple.com.
