Apple’s iPhone Upgrade plan is now available for online purchase. The plan, which originally launched seven months ago, offers monthly payment installments for users that cover the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Apple offers a base of 24 months of payments, either $32/month for a 16GB 6S or $37/month for a 16GB 6S+, and the payments increase as device storage increases. The upgrade plans each offer Apple Care as well.

Mobile device users are feeling less inclined to update devices frequently, and for this reason, more carriers are abandoning traditional subsidized models. As the device upgrade cycle lengthens, manufacturers, like Apple, will have to create new incentives for users to update devices more frequently.

With the slowing upgrade cycle, mobile asset managers can expect a shift towards the leasing model for enterprises, and rising popularity in used devices.
