More than 20 percent, or one in five, enterprises experienced a data breach because of holes in a BYOD policy according to a study conducted by Crowd Research Partners.
The study indicated the majority of these breaches were the result of malicious malware or unverified WiFi 24 percent of the interviewed organizations indicated BYOD devices have previously paired with malicious WiFi, and 39 percent reported downloading some type of malware in the past.
BYOD policies open doors for information breaches if employees are not well-versed in data security. One way to ensure secure BYOD procedures is working with a certified mobile asset manager.
